4th of July

There is something about the 4th of July that is so much fun. Families are getting together, barbecues are being had, sparklers are being lit and fireworks are being displayed. Patriotism is in the air across the country.

We spent the 4th (really the 3rd) in Clearfield with our families. We played some card games, reading books, and a little volleyball. The area was crowded so Jessica and Krysta (Jess' little sister) were often hitting the ball into other people. After it started to get dark we all settled down, "deer nuts" and all. Donnie took some pictures of the fireworks and we said our "oohs" and "aahs." After they were all over it was a race to clean up, only to wait in line for a half hour.

The funniest thing happened though, we were walking to the car and Jess turned to a couple hugging and said "see you guys later" then immediately turned to Donnie and said "they are not part of our group" LOL!!! We had to hurry a little quicker to get to the car just in case they heard her.

So, on the actual 4th we went over to Donnie's parents' house for a quick FHE. Our lesson was on enduring to the end. Then it was over to Jess' mom and dad's house for a barbecue. It was a ton of fun. We had hot dogs, hamburgers, s'mores, and lots of goodies! We had a great time. We even shared the day with the Leete family and some of their grandchildren. We stayed for a while and after we could eat nor drink no more, we finally left. It was a great time and we are already creating our plans for next year.

~Happy 234th Birthday America~
